The event, held for the first turne by the Christian Children's Fund of Canada, is a fundraiser for children in famine-stricken African countries. It is hoped that as many as 700 people will attend the event and that $10,000 can be raised from the event, calied 'Corne to Skate for Kids '93.' Sandy Cohen, Whitby's top scorer during the regular season and who was outstanding in the tournament, scored one of the Whitby goals while Derek Young had the other.
