Raina is proposing to build elght single detached lots, 62 single llnk dwellings and a 0.7 ha. commercial block on a 5.2 ha. vacant site. Recommended to council That council accept the low tender of $75,325 f rom Resurfice Corp. for two Olympia Ice resurfacing units. i ne new units are to be usea at Luther Vipond Memorlal Arena ln Brooklin and at Iroquois Park. The Town willl get $9.630 back f rom Resurfice by trading ln the old Brooklin unit and through tex adjustments; the GST rebate, cuts the cost to $63,243. Recommended to council The Durham Regional Police dive team was called out Friday night to check a car partly sub- merged in Lake Ontario near the new boat Iaunch off' Gordon St. Police had feared there may have been someone trapped ini- side the vehicle but it was found to beempty. .The car, a 1988 Pontiac Sun- bird, was spotted by someone walking by thearea. Police say it was stolen from the Whitby GO parking lot some- time between 7:40 a.m. Thursday .end 5:30 p.m. Friday. Police say tracks in the lot indicated the thieves did power s pins in the lot before ditching th e car in the lake. An investigation is continuing.
