Completion of the project is scheduled within two years. New director*s for Big Brothers By Yoko Shfraisbi The Big Brothers Association of Oshawa-Whitby recently elected its new board of directors. This 25th anniversary year, the board consists of more Big Brother volunteers, as welI -as some highly experienced individuals from the community. At the annual general meeting held March 29, long-standing volunteer Ed Milburn was elected as president, Ron Marston eie-pesident, and Mark MacMilan treasurer. The board aise elected six new members. Milburn is materials manager for Complex Corporation, as well as co-owner of Software Works (Nevada), a computer company. He has been a . Big Brother volunteer since 1981, as well as serving on the board of directers both as vice-president and treasurer. Marston, employed by the Ministry of Correctional Services, became a Big Brother in 1992. He has been a community volunteer in Oshawa-Whitby for more than 13 years. MacMillan, a production supervisor at General Motors for 20 years, has been a Big Brother since 1989. He has served on committees of the board for the past four years. Goals for 1993-94 are te increase the number'of successful (Big Brothers to Little Brothers) matches,' to-decrease the number of boys c'Io the waiting list and to secure su'ficient funding to cope with a recent cutback of $15,000 from the United Way. The board is forming an anniversary committee for special events and activities during the coming months with tche final celebration te culminate with the 25th annual meeting in the spring of 1994.
