Eight photographs show silhouettes of women who were residents and counsellors at Bryony House, a Halifax transition home for womnen and their children. Avanti Apple began workcing on the therne of violence'against womnen in 1987 as a personal respoZnse te the women around 1her who had been affrected by it. In this exhibition, she juxtaposes images and texte; -- photographs and thoughts fromn some of t he women. I feel I have experienced the pain of each of these womnen and thshas allowed me te devebep my own inner dialogue, on violence," says Apple. "Each time I meet a waman who shares her story with me, I live another personal dialogue endurance as woxnen and our struggles for acceptance and dignity in the world."
