As winners of the tournamnent, Pringle Creek will host the ovent next year. A Whitby team won the Lak- eridge Lob BaIl Co-op Tourna- ment in Peterborough over the weekend. It may have corne as no surer- ise that Pringle-Creek 2 won the teurnament -- the team was un- beaten in regular season play in the Durham Co-op beague. The Wihitby under-il Malta Falcons visited Harrisburg, Pa. Aug. 21 and 22 and were consolation winners in the Redland Summer Classic soccer tournainent. Falcons won their division with threo straight wins. Whitby opened with a strong 8-0 win over Perk Valley, Pa.' and followed with victories of 5-2 over West Chester, Pa. and 6-2 over the host Redland Soccer Club. In semni-final play, Falcons found themselves unable te overcome the homefield advantage and dropped a 3-0 decision te Swatara, Pa. This put the Whitby side in the consolation final in which they handed Manapalan, N.J. a 4-0 defeat. Providing the scoring punch for the Falcons on the weekend were Robbie Reid with six goals, Matthew Morgan with five, Andy Methven with four, David Crabbe and Steven Perce with three each Derok Orr. Neil Hubley earned two shutouts in' goal and received strong backfield support from Brett Allen, Abex Richardson, Adamn Teather and Stuart Turpini. Burreil shot a 77 te finish tied for fourth in the tour's final event at Lakeridge Links in Whitby on Aug. 23. Burreli didn't win any of the tour's seven events but was in the top 10 in each. .David Kovac s, who won the Lakeridge event as well as the toues fourth event at Whitevale, Ho had 386 points te, Burrell's 392. Kovacs was battling for top spot overaîl until the tour's sixth event at the Oshawa Golf Club whoro ho had a disappointing finish. Second at Lakeridge were Scott Vail and Derek Gillespie, both of the Oshawa club, each with a 75 one shot behind Kovacs on tle ar-72 course.
