Tickets were on sale last week during noon heur and, boy, were they ever hot. People lined up fr-antically as though they were buying tickets for a U2 concert -- perhaps they ehould have issued wrist bands in advance. And if you did get your tickets, you may just have te dig inte your wallet again, that is, if yeu're interested in asking someone te Prom '94. This year the prom committee is offering te send someone a flower with a message inviting them te, accompany you te the prom. Prom tickets themeelves go on sale Nov. 16 (a $50 deposit is reuired). Our junior boys' soccer teaxn finished on tep this year, winning both LOSSA and DYSSA for their division. The Anderson junior girls' basketball team also came firat in LOSSA last week. And, in OFSAA, Anderson's Stephanie Duflfr finished llth and Jeff Clayten 26th in the cross-country race last F'riday. While we're on the tepic of athletes, Anderson is holding a sport-a-thon Nov. 19-20. Participants will bo involved in 24 heurs of sports, food and fun while raising rnoney for the athletic association. Academically speaing, a group of determined Anderson students deserve a pat on the back as well. A number of world issues students finmMs. Mathie's OAC classes participated in a 48-heur fast last week. Students who took part reaflzed what h-unger- was ab)out as they nibbled their ration of two sices of bread and drank only water. Friday at lunch, the students could be found wolfing down pizza and gulping down gallons of pop. Fina]ly, if you think you've got the "ineves and grooves," Anderson's annual airband contest is back. Applications are available now in the main office, so get your group together and show us what you've got.
