The Rîat Pack's first gaine against Belleville ended in a 2-2 tie. Belleville started fast and were able to put two pucks behind Whitby goltender Kyle Nova in the first five and a haîf minutes of play. But this was ail that the Pack would allow as they methodicaily carne back from the early deficit. Late in the period Brandon Fowler converted a beautiful centering pasa from Wade Branch .and the firet period ended 2-1. Sean Pitcher scored in the second totde the score. The gaine was both fast-paced and physical, with a total off 56 shots on goal. Misissugatook the lead with two late golsin the firat period and added another early in the' second. Early in the third period, Fowler turned a goalmouth scramble into WVhitby's first goal. Assisting on the play were Jamie Millage and Sean Kerr. Less than two minutes later, Pitcher brought Rat Pack wthin one goal as he macde no mistake on a Branch rebound. Whitby Iroquois Swim Club member Ashleigh Crowder was ranked firet in Canada last year in the 100m backstroke amongz girls aged 13 and 14 and ranked second in 200m baclstroke. She won the Canadian championship in the 100m event. Another swim club member, Robyn McCulloch, was ranked first in Canada in the 200m niedley for 12-year-old girls, and ranked second in 200m backstroke.
