RZat Pack tics Ajax The Whitby major novice AA hockey team tied Ajax 2-2 in a recent gaine. The game was cbose-checking and physical with neither club gaining an advantage in the first period. Although being outplayed, Aýjax took the Iead early in the second period on a nice two-way passing play. However, less than two minutes later, Sean Pitcher chased a loose puck far into the Ajax corner. The. Ajax defender was far too interested in knocking down the Whitby forward to be concerned about the puck. Pitcher eluded the check, picked up the puck and scored on a wrap-around from behind the net. The. score remained tied until the third. Whitby, who continually poured on the pressure throughout the gaine, took the lead on a high shot by Kevin Walsh froin the deep slot, on a nice setup by Brandon Fowler. The lead held until late in the gaine, when AýJax managed to tie the score on a play that finished with the Ajax forward, along with goaltender Drew Dockrill, inside the. Whitby net. Although the Rat Pack was not victorious in the gaine, the defensive corps of Andrew Martland, Jeremid Brimble, Robert Eberle, Robin Côté and Jamie Millage "played very well for the most part, picking up their checks and clearing rebounds," according to assistant coach Gary Pitcher. Whitby gaine stars were Walsh, Jason Connor and Millage. The Rat Pack's season continues with games in Pickering and Markham this week.
