KIMBIERLY WHITSII1T After an 18-month battie against cancer, Kimberl' Mn Wisitt, 9, died at ber ïiome in Whitby on June 10, 1994. Kimberly, who had an inoper- able brain stem tuniour, remained active until the last two montbs of ber iliness. A Brownie for three years and a Guide for one year, she lived the eigbth Guide law, 'A Guide smiles and sings even under dif- ficulty.' She was awarded the BadLge of Fortitude by the National Coun- cil of the Girl Guides of Canada for ber courage and strength througbout ber illness. Kimberly, described as a «very b apgy cbild witb a great love for lif, played soccer, played tbe p:iano,, loved to skip and enjoyed sin ging. S he -and ber sister Jennifer were carriers for a local com- munity newspaper, a responsibi- lity she took on until tbe I ast two months of ber illness. Sbe was a student at Ormiston Public School until December, 1993. Afterwards, teacbers visited ber at borne to belp ber uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by hier grandfather Fred Turner. The funeral service was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Tuesday, June 14 Bishop Douglas Burn- field oiîciating. Interment at Thornton Cemietery. Donations to the Children's Wish Foundation, Make a Wish Foundation or Bayview Cancer Treatment Centre. ANN HENDERSON A. Ann Henderson of Oshawa died at Whitby General Hospital on June 21, 1994. She was 72. A. Ann Cogan was born on Nov. 18,' 1921, in Preston, Lan- cashire England. She married Michael Henderson on Oct. 17, 1941 in England. Mrs. Henderson was a Whitby resident for 33 years. She is survived by her hus- band, son Rod, daughters Bar- bara, Maureen and Colleen, and six grandchildren. The funeral service 'vas held fromn the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel on June 23, 1994.
