Just as in the semi-final, Whitby trailed at haif-time in the final but rode the wind te victory in the second haif. Whitby played Moredale in the charnpionshi p, and Moredale assumed a 1-0 lead after one haif. But Whitby was unstoppable with the wins at their bac ks inn the second haîf. Jim Roufos set Up Chris Couti for the tying goal, then Terry Lawrenson got the winner when hee beaded a corner kick by Graham MacLean. Scott Adam son found the feet of MacLean with a throu h bal and Macean deposited thle bal behind the startled goaltender. For the remaining 20 minutes, Whitby showed its defensive pro- wess. Whitby #2 built up a 2-0 lead until Whitby #3 cut the lead with a run in the bottom of the third inning. The score remained 2-1 until the seventh inning when both teains scored singletons for the 3-2 final score.
