(Corner Construction) of Concord for a reconstruction project on Dundas Street this summner. Council should have chosen a $1.2-million tender from Hard- Ce Construction Ltd. of Whitby instead, Mitchell argued. Ho noted that council had no previeus experience with Corner, whereas Hard-Co is involved in the ongeing installation of sani- tary sewers and water mains in Brooklin. Mitchell aIse pointed eut that the Dundas Street contract makes ne provision for the hiring of local labour. But a $2.2-million tender for construction of the Town's new fre department headquarters on Taunten Road, aise approved Monday, has that stipulation, hoe said.
