In Stouffville on July 12 the teani scored 19 runs to dominate the game offensively. The game saw multiple bits by Tracy Miler, Stacie Beetbam and Rhian Moore as well as singles by Leslie West, Lià ndsay Knocker, Shannon Harrod, Courtney Mitchell and Susie Waldron. Solid defensive play by Jillian Finley, Corrne McFarlane and Amy McAdam limiited the Stouffville team to only six runs on five bits. Later the saine Week, Wbhitby camne up against some tough opposition as they met Pickering. In wbat bad to be the shortest, most tigbtly played gaine of the season, Wihitby came up just short, losing 2-1. The few bits in this gaine were by West, Mitchell, Beethain and Moore. Hakws played an error-free game. The most recent gaine played by Whitby was in Oshawa against the Royals. Behind solid pitchihg by Harrold, Knocker and Mitchell, tbe team bats again came alive aniassing a total of 31 runs. Whiitby's season record stands at eigbt wins, three losses and two tdes. WMhy lost 8-6 to, archrival Peterborough in a hard-fougbt gaine. Wihitby bad a 3-1 lead but Peterborough came back ta tie it at the end of the second period. Penalties cost Wihitby the gaine. Whitby opened the taurnament by downing Orangeville 6-4 in a gaine in which Orangeville came out strong witb a 4-2 lead until Wbhitby came back witb four unanswered goals. The second game saw Whitby's offence far superior ta that of an unexperienced Beaches teamn, beating tbem 10-O. Dusty Sargent got the shutout in tbe net. The final gaine of the round-robin pitted Whitby against a strong London teain. Whidtby trailed 3-2 going into tbe third, but felI apart in tbe tbird, losing 9-2. Scoring for the tournament were: Allan Watson with nine points; Michael Calnan and Josh Colley, eigbt each; Casey Logeman, five; Ryan McMicbael, Michael Vanatorfu ah Ryan Haber, ]Robert Hawne-, tbree each; Matt Mullen, Shawn Stephens, Stephane Linklater, Matt Taylor and Dane Dainard, two each.
