New homes sales were down 10 per cent froni June, 1994, reflecting norm al seasonal: trends. "This is the best July result in six years, as were May and June," Langer nioted. "It is also the tenth consecutive month in which new home sales have substantially exceeded the same month the previous year."l Thirty-seven new homes were sold in WVhitby in July. "The strong performance of the condominium market in July is particularly noteworthy," says Langer. "Condominium sales normally range from 25 te 30 per cent of the total market. There were 414 condominiunms sold in JulY, which represents a remarkable 42 per cent of total sales. "The condominium produce mix included tewnhomes and casitas as Weil as apartments." Looking ahead, Langer expressed optimism. "New home sales in the first seven months of 1994 are up an asteunding 69 per cent compared with the sanie period lest year. With many builders currently making plans for new project openings in the fall, we are confident that this positive trend will continue."
