The Witby Brass Band was originally established in 1857. Reconsituted as a brass band in the traditional British style after World War II, the band, under present conductor Roland I-li, provides hours of entertainment for the community. The 36 members give performances that vary from the Santa Claus parades te the Brooklin Spring Fair, music ~~ THEU including traditional British marches, light melodies and classic show tunes. The County Town Singers will aiso be performing on Heritage Day. This singing group o0ignated in Whiity in 1967. Siince then they have grown rapidly in numbers fromn 12 members te over 70 members, ranging in age from 20 te 70. The. Whitby Courthouse Theatre will entertain audiences with one singing performance in the morning. The theatre group has been very active in teaching young people techniques and skills required to become a good actor or actress. The theatre has put on inany plays and theatrical events since being established. In addition, the singing group 'Away We Go With Annie and Mo!' will perform on Heritage Day. Other events and activities include Earl Pascoe's antique dlock display, children activities, Trafalgar Castle's display, as well as the Whitby Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Commit- tee information booth.
