SENNETT PUBLIC SCHOOL B y Zuzg.ana Lipka and Victoria Morris R.A Sennett is a srnail but wonderful school! The* teachers enjoy woring with the children and care for their students. The school library has a good variety of both informative and enjoyabe books te help students learn about the world around us. R.A Sennett provides programs and field trips that are fun and educational for ail ages. R.A Sennett has aise adopted the Rotary Park which we lielp te keep green! Every morning our principal, Mrs. D. Thornten, gives up-to-date announcements which are very lielpful te students. Every year R.A. Sennett bas a back-to-school barbecue which includes gaines and raffles. Last year the Juniors performed the WiZard of Oz which was a big success. R.A Sennett lias a very striking Junior and Primary Choir. The Junior Choir participated in the Henry Street I-gb School music niglit. A lot of students participate in sports sucli as T-bail, soft bail, throw-ball, soccer and a wrestling tearniail of whicb we areproud. But, best of al, R.A Sennett students are learning, growing and striving everyday te be the best that they can be. KATHLEEN ROWE SCHOOL By Mariane Munray, Mlanie David, Kim Sootto Ryan Me.Arhur, Paul Choenobay, J athan Malthyq Matthew Dyck, AieS Wu, Julian Bail, Shawn Parkinso O)ur sebool was built in 1959 and was naxned te honour Kathleen Rowe who was a highly respected and admired music teaclierin-Whitby. We feel our school lias many great qualities and exciting programs. Our students are very lucky te have a large school yard with lots of playground equipment. Kathfleen Rowe's scho01 population is approimately 300 and that and white. This year we created a school song which helped te boost school spirit and was fun te compose. Eacli year we work liard te, become computer literate and we have a computer lab as well as ikelmy school computers in many classrooms. Kathleen Rowe i5 one of the few sehools te have dances at niglit and a formai dinner for our Grade 8 graduates. Over the years our scbool bas reaily cbanged. For tic past four years it lias been undergoing renovations and now looks like a ncw sciool. What liasn't changed during tic ycars is the fiendlly, comfortable atmosphere wbich bas helped ail of us te learn and reaci our goais. As we bld farewell and begin our higli school career we will remember the wondcrful years spent at Kathleen Rowe. PRINGLE CREEK PUBLIC SCHOOL By Colin Elion, '94 graduate Pringle Creek is a vitai part of our wvondcrful community. Pringle 18 an aIl-round amazing school. The activities bore ensure that you can ho busy playing sports, joining clubs or playing music ail year round. T'le teacbers bore at Pringle are very committed in making Pringle a btter place. Their positive attitude tewards our school reflects on the actions of al our students. We,, as students, are very lucky te, have sucb enthusiastic teachers who volunteer hundreds of hours of their tume te make extracurricular activities as fun as they are. The advanced oquipmont that we bave makes our echool more modemn and fun. We have CD Rom;, computers and scoreboard. This allows us te ho a flrst-class scbool. We bave many. activities including five instrumental banda and a choir. We have clubs for al tye of people. There are the cong, outdoor, chess, art, computer, ski, dance'and drama clubs. The sports programn at Pringle is one of tic best in Durhama. The school's volleyball teani finisbed first in Durhami and second in Ontario. We aise bave basketball, track and field, cross-country and football teams. Overall there isn't a botter school tbat I bave seen or heard of. And even thougli Fm now going te higli school, I will still miss Pringle and ail the wonderful teachers and principai who have taught me se, much. BELLWOOD PUBLIC SCIIOOL By Jeif Frazer Bellwood's students are raring te go for yet another great year. Already excellent school spirit is boing shown with a House League raily assembly pianned, wbere students dress in their bouse colours from 'head te toe-' and hope te gain as many points as possible for their teani. The entire sebool participates in some fun and fiendly gamnes. We can't forget - about those Bobcats awaiting their tryouts for ail the school teanis and 7wc can look forward te, an exciting game if Beliwood 18 on the court. We have great enthiusiasm in helping the chidren to learn and to enjoy themselves in the process. Palmerston is a sniall school with only 16 classrooms and about 400 students. But above ail, this tiny place is filled with love and that's what makes this school such a great place. ORMISTON PUBLIC SCHOQL By Cheryl West Ormiston is a good school where teachers and students work together to help eaeh other and work out problems. After sehool there are lots of activities for studen ts to participate in. House league takes place in the gym at lunch time, at recess and affer school. The Id play floor hockey, ing's court and many more fun activities. The intermediates have basketball and volleyball tearns and al inds of other clubs. When you reach Grade 8 the teachers work liard te get the students ready for higli achool. We go on a graduation trip and have a super graduation celebration. We work hard at organizing ourselves te get ready for high sehool. Ormiston is a very clean aclool, iL lias two floors and many portables. Ormiston 15 a fairly new school. It has been open for foue hop lotsof people continue te visit us at Ormiston. ME.ADOWCREST SCHOOL By Lindsay Cox The school year at Meadowcrest Public school has begun and te me looks incredibly promnising. In echool sports, tryouts have already commenced for volleyball and moon cross country. The teains look wonderful and very hopeful. My expectations for the year are just as optimistic. With liomework, extracurricular activities and otlier commitments outside of scbool, it will be a busy year for ail of us. I amn in Grade 8 and look forward te a year ofliard work and fun, although the year is only what you make it. COLONEL J.E. FAREWEL PUBLIC SCHOOL By Nàul Skisna and ichael Anderson If you believe, you can achieve! That 18 the motte of the ifineat school in Whitby, Colonel J.E. Farewell. It ail starts off with the teacliers. They are ail very ind, helpf'ul, fiendly and enthusiastic. As well, the students are al cager te, learn. It 18 very easy te get involved in one of the many teaims or clubs with teachers wbo devote their time doing these activities. That's wliy we think Colonel J.E. Farewell 18 the best school to be at.
