In regular season play, Durhamn Cash finished the season sixth out of eight teams in their division. Entering. the playoff round, Durhamn Cash defeated RP Oul. They then. lost te Mr. Transmission 17-12, rneaning the team would be eiiminated with one more defeat. Durham Cash went on te defeat their opponents in their next three gaines, te reach the championship against Mr. Transmissi on. Mr. Transmission entered the final match undefeated in playoff action, so Durham Cash bad to defeat the leaders twice te, take home the chanipionship. On Sept. 5 Durham Cash won 14-11. In the final match the following nigbt, Durhamn Cash defeated Mr. Transmission 15-5 in their strongest game of the season. Led by Cameron Langlois, who inspired the girls te, believe they could "do it al," the mnembers of the victorious jurioûr mite team are Patricia -Brown, Johanna Catsburg, Amanda Joaquim, Jadea Kelly,, Courtney Laforty, Sarah Laforty, Holly Langlois Heather McHardy, Aleis Roddaul, Laura' Smith, Sarah Tucker and Kate Vaxnplew. This gaine, like the previous three played between these two teams, was always in doubt and always required seven. hard-fought innings. Greg Johnsten led Whitby #1 with a solid effort in the field and at the' plate. Trevor Sheppard made strong throws te catch two runpers stealing, seored a rua and had an RBI to keep the gaine close early. Brendan Peel's three-for-three hitting performance allowed hum to score two rune to keep the gameý close, until Whitby #2's outburst in the seventh that secured victory. The rubber match was a defensive struggle, With neither teain able te get toe tbe two starters, Lacey for Whitby #1 and Mike Laffey froin Whitby #2. Head coach Rick Petrie had some difficult decisions to make in composing the 1994-95 roster, as a good number» of skulled players turned out for a spot on the team.
