She will read from 'Brown Girl ]Lib 'rary's historY to be related On Wednesday, Oct. 19 Whitby Archivist Brian Winter will pre- -sent a history of the library as seen through the eyes of Lyman T. Barclay, flirst chair of the first public library board. Winter's presentation will be made frem 7:30 te 8:30 p.m. at the main branch of the library at 405 Dundas St. W. Winter has written a number of books and pamphlets about Whitby's history, including the Centennial Histoiry of the Ontario ladies' College (new Tra- falgar Castle School). In 1974 hie received the Peter PryAward as Whitby's eut- stading citizen fer his historical werk. In 1985, he received an Ontario Volunteer Service Award.
