In addition, numerous other vehicles receive engineering improvemeibts as well -as exterior and interior appearance changes. 'the 1995 model year alse marks the inclusion of at least one air bag in every GM,. Saturn and Saab passenger car as standard equipment (with about three-quarters including dual air bags). Anti-lock brakes (ABS) are standard on' aIl GM passenger cars, except Geo Metro, Pontiac Firefly and Saturn. medels, which have them available as low-cost options. 1Also on the safety front, GM offers child-security rear door locks on nearly ail its 1995 sedan models, designed te prevent children from accidentally opening rear doors. New modela for 1995 Entirely new models for 1995 are the Aurora sport sedan froni Oldsmobile and Its companbon model, the Buick Riviera luxury coupe. Both are built on a new platform, and the Aurora features multi-valve, 4.0-litre V8 engine, while the Riviera is powered by a supercharged, 22.5-horsepower 3.8--litre 3800 V6. At the end of the spectruni is Canada's best-selling car the past Chevrolet Cavalier, sedan and coupe, completely restyled inside and out for 1995. On the sanie latform is its Pontiac sibling, the Pontiac Sunfire sedan and coupe <previously called Sunbird). Assembled at GM of Canada's Oshawa car assembly plant are the all-new, mid-size 1995 Chevrolet Lumina sedan coupe and the performanc e-oriented Chevrolet Monte Carlo coupe. On the truck side are two new compact sport-utility vehicles -- the Chevrolet Blazer (formerly S-Blazer) and GMC Jimmy, available in two- or four-door models with either two-wheel or four-whéel drive. Coming later in the year will be all-new, four-door versions of the Chevrolet Tahoe (formerly K-Blazer) and GMC Yukon fuli-size, 4x4 sport-utility vehicles. For the younger, economy- minded buyer, 1995 marks the debut of the all-new, Canadian- bujît Geo Metro and Pontiac Firefly, available in three-door hatchback coupe and four-door notchback sedan versions. Both vehicles feature standard driver- and passenger-side air- bags and standard child-security rear door locks, and available Delco ABS VI anti-lock brakes. . For the more upscale, sporty driver are the- all-new Saab 900S and 900SE convertibles. And new in Canada for the 1995' model year is the Firebird convertible (which wvas launched late in the 1994 model year in the U.S. only). Scheduled for introduction later this year are convertible versions of the Chevrolet Cavalier and Pontiac Sunfire, along with all-new Cavalier 7.24 and Sunfire GT Sport Coupes. These new convertible and cou e mpdels will .be powered by GM; new double overhead cam (DOHC) 2.3-litre "2300 Twin Cam" engine. Continuing after its mid-year introduction in- 1994 is the Impala SS (Çhevwolete Caprice option package,. one of the most respected "muscle car' nameplates from the '60s and '709. GM vehicles receiving moderato exterior changes for 1995 include extended-length Chevrolet Astro and GMC Safari vans (both which see regular-length niodels dis- continued this year); Buick Regal; Chevrolet Corsica; Chevrolet Caprice Classic; and Satura SCi and SC2 sport coupes.
