Peewees lose in semi-final The Whitby mnor peewee AA rep hockey teamn, sponsored by crows Sports, won- the consolation championship at the Wayne Gretzky international minor hockey tournament in Brantford Dec. 30. In the first gaine of the tournamnent Wildcats lost 4-0 Wo Orangeville. In the second gaine Whitby defeated St. Catharines 4-1. Matt Rae, Paul Tait, Ryan Mondes and Bryan Rourke scored.1 In the third played Aurora against a very gaine Whltby and came up hot goaltender. Whitby had six breakaways but were unalle Wo put the puckc past the Aurora goaltender who was nained, most valuable player. The game against Richmond Hill on Dec. 19 was a low-key affair with neither side wanting to break loose. Bryan Crouch scored Whitby's only marker. Late in the third Richmnond Hil managed to even the score. Goalie Tom Lawson faced 17 shots for the evening. On Dec. 21lOshawa was first to get- on the scoreboard with two goals early in the period. Matt Capson managed Wo even the score wlth two goals. Oshawa finished the scoring with lesa than one minute left ln the period to gain the lead. Steve Death started the second with a goal.
