For some time now we have been anticipating the construction of our very own sehool. However, due to, certain "little problem,"' it was constantly delayed. Finally our dreame are coming true. Friday, March 9 marked the official day. Among the gusts and dignitaries attending the celebration. were Dr. Earl J. Logroi, director of education for Durham separate school board; Tomn Oldman, chair of the school board,~ Robert Boisvert, chair of the ad-hoc committee of Saint-Charles-Garnier, TOM' Edwards, mayor of Whitby; Gord Mille, MPP for Durham'East; Drummond White, M.P for Durham Centre; to, offlcially bless the site of our future echool, our parish priest Father Viateur liaurin. Prior te the oeremony,« students celebrated in our own way. On Thursday, March 8, buses brouglit, us ail out to, the site where we ail trod on that cherished soil for the firet tume. Each homerooni macle up slogans, songs, banners, cheers, ditties, raps and presented theni to the rest of the students as a means of ringing in our new echool. The bitter cold, and the Arctic wind' did not dampen our enthusiasm, nor our resolve.
