Literallyl On Thursday, May 18, Sinclair officially opened. We were presented with a fiag, a picture of Queen Elizabeth, a tree and many more gifts. SA special thanks te ail who contributed te this event. The teachers and students who performed in the opening did an outstanding job in capturing the past and the present. This was clearly a good example of "pioneering beyond tomorrow." The culinary arts students did a wonderful job of providing ail of our guests with refreshments. Any student who woiild like an opening program as a souvenir may pick one up in the main office. Coming soon is the Sinclair semi-formal. This will be the last dance of the year and should b. a blast. TIhe new prices are $5 per person or $9 per couple. Tickets will be on sale at lunch in the student common area. Next week MOGA (most outrageous group activity) madness will be here. I period A next Wednesday, the entire school will participate in an activity for 20 minutes. Great prizes are available te be won and everyone will recéive a free box of Corn Pops. It should be a blast. The trip te, see 'Joseph' will also take place next week. There are five seats left. Se. Olivia Burreil made a close race of the presidential campaign. Last Friday, a. group of students participated in the Science Olympics at York University. Also on Friday, the most taked-about event of the year, the Wprom, teok place at Le Parc in Ma=a. It was a huge success, ail due te, the hard work of the. prom committee and, of course, Terrance Balazo's wonderful job as master 0f ceremonies. He was also crowned prom king while Pam Barfitt was narned prom queen. A few other honours worthy of The genie auction was held to raise money for "Graffiti." ' Thanks te Wi]lard Ellis, Mike Jackson, Todd Bainbridge for agreeing te "serve their masters" for the day. As well, thanki te everyone who "bought" a gemie. The Spring Concert was held last Tuesday night at the school, a great job by ail of the bands ana choira, that participated. They nearly upset Eastdale Eagles before losing 5-4 in extra innings, and then lost 5-2 to Roberts. Bfi Butcher was aoelaiined as psident, Fred Ruck 0f Adelaide Mcagln Public School was acclaimed vice president, Simon Faulkner of TAL McEwen Senior Public School was acclaimed treasurer, Allan Ashby of Colonel J£. Farewell Public School was acclaimed secretary and Randy Huebert 0f Lord Elgin Public School was elected executive member. Aif Plummer, principal of Central Park Senior Public School, was presented with a plaque fr-om the membersbip for bis many years of service as an executive member, president and speaker for Durham District OPST sisho retires this yeur. Foilowing the meeting and elections, OPSTF joined Durham Women Teachers' Association members for dinner at Cullen Gardens. After dinner the Marilyn Adams award was presented to Victoria Fudge ofRA Sennett Public School.
