Mr. Batty was a well-respected livestock judge at fairs from coast te coast and judged at the Royal Agrcultural Winter Fair in 1975. He first served, as Ontario Director of the Clydesdale Horse Association of Canada in 1942 and was president of -the assocation in 1954-55. , He. served as Clydesdale Association representative te the Royal Winter F air from 1949 te 1985 and served for a number of years as director of the fair.. Mr. Batty was chairman of the. Canadian National Iàvestock Records Board in 1961 and was secretary-treasurer of the Ontario Clydesdale Club from 1955 to 1965. In 1981 Mr. Batty toured breeders' farme in Scotland. with Wreford Hewson and Stephen Lewis. Mr. Batty was a member of the Wbitby.
