In what has been - in comparison to recent years - a slow 1995 year for construction, September represented an upsurge.. A total cf 76 permits were issued for more than $8-niillion worth cf construction. Included, were residential permits for 45 new dwellings - the highest total for one month this year. A total cf 65 permits were issued for $6.2-million worth cf housing construction. For, industrial construction, Co-Steel Lasco will build a $250,000 duist facility plant. The plant will be 17,000 square feet in size. BMW Canada Inc. also got a permit for a $700,000 interior renovation cf its office area. Invar, developer of the new Home Depot warehouse operation on Victoria Street East,< took out permits last month for construction cf the Office Place and Sports Authority, te, be established next te Home Depot. The first two buildings - the Sussex and the Stratford, which will be at the north end. cf the property - wiil be ready for occupancy April 15, says contract manager J.R. Faulkner. He expects construction cf the second two buildings - phase two - te, begin -March 1, with occupancy set for Aug. 15.
