'been hectic, what with testa to b. written, projects and asigninonts te be completed. * In the. midst of ail the commotion there were a few important events that took place during the second term. Canadian * Foundation for AIDS Research actively got involved with many of the students at our school. Leanme Weld, a member of the foundation, proposed ta us an opportunity ta, support thi. worthwhile cause and help persons in need. Heart O'Grams, small packages filled with red cinnamon hearta, were sold for just a dollar each. These cinnamon hearts were given out oni Valentine's Dayr, where, on the box, 'a spaco was left ta- write your own personal message. House captains, Chiara Campiteli of Farewell, and Carnie Kolewasci, of Carter, did a wonderful job of informing the school and organizing the event in time for Valentine's Day. There was an enormous amount of support from both the staff and the. students - that shows a sense of caring. Our school was vezy succeseful and raised *$5â00 for AIDS research. Another event that has taken place here at the school in past years is the Science Olympica, held Feb. 24. It consisted of 12 teams from an assortment of other independent schools. Organized by Suzanne Ogilvie-King and Sonya Klessling, who are doing this as part of-their senior independent study projects in physics and chemistzy respectively, everything ran according ta, order, and everyone, had the most amazing time. Just as the termn ends, the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunnise will hold their second annual Murder Mystery Night Dinner theatre here at the school on March 2. Sam Spade and Jool Pyro will provide intense entertainment from the film classic The Maltese Falcon in the Mystery 0f the Maltes. Blue Jay! They got an eyewitness account of the terrible conditions in which a portion of the population live and returned thankful and humble. In March, another group of pupils from aur school will make the same journey and experience the samne conditions. It is important that we give our travellers aur support. Counthees fundraisers have been arganized, including bingo and a talent show, that will help reduce the cost of the journey and help buy food and clothîng for the Domincan community in which they will stay. The lessons they will earn will be invaluable to them, and ta us. At the LOSSA championship swim meet, Austin pulled in five medals, in 'cluding a gold in the men's 200m medlay relay.
