The Henry Athetic Council je pleased to announce that the walkathon was a great success, raising over $400. Congratulations te organizers, Vanessa Elus, LeAnn Morrison, Kari Morine and Adrienne Baker and te ail of those who participated. Top fundraisers were- Brian Fehst,. Natalie MraBrandon Pigeau and Mim Struthers. Winners of the spirit awards 1were Don Cbau, Kelly Norton, Jay Johnson and Vanessa Ells.. Congratulations te Eric Henze, who plaed fifth in the senior boys' highjumpaând, Kim Vanderlip who placed sixth in .the senior girls 400metesat the Central'Ontarjo Regionai TM&ck eet held recently. Weil, Hawks have done it again. Congrat ulaios t the Hawk boys' lacrosse team who are the 1996 champions with an 8-6 win over McLaughlMi'. K(udos te Henry- vocalists, Kziien Herrel, Christina Roberts, Jackie Mclntrye and Erin Smith, who are members of the Global Voices Choir. This group joined with the Spirit of Voioe Choir for a performance recently, and is now awaiting the start of a global teur. The Henry Street girls' lacrosse team was deféated 7-6 in the LOSSA final against Donevan. The coaches Miss Brudek and Mr. Hannah,, would likeý te congratualate the team on their great effort and salute them for their dedication and comxitment during the season. The midget boys' rugby team reoently tured i two great efforts In victories over Bowmanville 24-. 14 and Courtioe 27-7. The junior boys' rugby team ended their season with . the LO)SSA tournanxentrecently. They won- the quarter final game against Anderson 31-15 but. lot the senu-finai gamne against Port Perry 31-15. This will become the major focus with the iearnîng link partners for September, 1996. Conversely, Sandoz empioyees attended Mir. Gabber's Internet werkshop at the Henry computer lab on April 24, and Mr. Grant (Henry principal) and Henry van Oudenaren (Sandoz) attended a Conference Board of Canada conference as presenters on their partnership activities to date., Currently Dupont is actively involved ' with- the drama department worIng on a project entitled . "Respect in the Workplace." Henry' draina students will write, produce and film'short plays on issues in the workpiace which should demand respect from ail employees. The resuit of this- work will be presented as a video which will be shown ini conjunction. with a workplace seminar aspart of a r-or me ru year, t.he IDurham Board of Education will offer summer computer/activity camps for students. Each '-five-day camp runs Monday te Frday, from 9 a.m. te 3:30 p.m., and features a haif day of computer training and a haif day of another activity, usually in the ar ea of sports or arts.
