Former councillor Joy Thom p- son was prosentod with a plaque !ni recogztion of her involvement in organizing the program 25 years ago. Thompson, who served on council from 1974-78, was res- ponsible for founding the annual program that has local high school students loarning how municipal govorrnent operates and thon culminates in a mock council meeting in which the situdents play the parts of elected officiaIs and Trown staff.
