eilay: St. John'. Anglcan Ciiurii will hold a Victorian tea and tours of the. oemetery and ciiurch as part of Whitby's annual Heritage Day on Saturday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m., to 3 p.m. in Port Whltby. The. tea will b. put on. by tiie members of the. congregation, dressed in period costume. The ciiurch, located at the. corner of Victoria and Brock streets, was built in 1846 and in the, oldest ciiurch building stili in use in Whitby. When the, church firt opened there were no seats and the. congregation iiad to stand. There was no organ so the. choir sang accompanied by a violin, a bas. viol and a flute. It ls one of only two buildings ini Whitby to b. built entirely from Kingston limeston,.
