On February 12 "My Mother is the Most Beautiful Woman in the World" will be presented. "The Grasshopper and the Ant" will be shown on February 19 and "Ben and Me" on February 26. FILM HOUR The Whitby Public Library will show an hour of films for school age children in the auditorium starting at 1:30 pmn on Wednesday, February 13 which is a teacher professional development day. RECITAL The Whitby Public Library will present the Paula Moreno Dance Com- pany in recital on February 20 at 7:30 pin. The program is a presen- tation of Spanish <ance and classical and flamenco guitar and is sponsored by the Central Ontario Regional Library System under a grant from the Ministry of Culture. LAW PROGRAMS The Whitby Public Library is presenting three lectures on law related issued. Each session will start at 7:30 pmn in the auditorium. On February 27, Mark Burch of the firm of Sims, Morton, McTerny and Brady will speak on income tax law. On March 5, Edward Schlien of the firm of Dixon and Schien will speak on small business law. Consumer protection will be the topic of March 12 program. The speaker for this topic will be announced in the near future. TRAVEL FILM On February 13, the Whit- by Public Library will present "Elie Wiesel's Jerusalem." This Jewish writer and storyteller will take the viewers through the legends, mnyths and history of this religious city. Wiesel has devoted most of his life to the articulation of Jerusalern as a spirtual focus of the world. The show begins at 7 pm in the auditorium and ad- mission is free. RUMMAGE SALE The Rape Crisis Centre is planning a ruxnmage sale to be held on February 23 bet- ween 10 am and 4 pm at the Steelworkers Hall, Alert Street, Oshawa. ONE PARENT7 MEETING The Whitby chapter of the One Parent Families Association will be holding their regular coffee and general meeting in the Gold Room of the Centennial Building, Centre Street South on Monday, February 11lat 8:30 pm. TRADE FAIR The Whitby Kinette Club will be holding a Trade Fair at the Iroquois Park Com- plex during the Winter Car- nival on February 8 and 9. The club will also be selling plates, mugs and cheese to raise money for t.he Cysteic Fibrosis Society. CASINO NIGHT The Whitby Arts Station will be holding a Winter Carnival Casino night on Saturday, February 9 bet- ween Bpm and 1 ami. Admission is $1 and restricted to persons 19 and older. There will be a cash bar and many games of chance. ONE PARENT DANCE The Durham District of the One Parent Families Association of Canada is holding a <ance on Satur- day, February 9, 1980 from 8:30 pm to 1 am at the Genosha Hotel in Oshawa, Advance tickets are $3 for members; $5 for non- members and tickets at the door are $4 for members and $for non-members WINTER CARNI VAL QUEEN DANCE The Whitby Jaycettes are holding a <ance at Masonic Hall on Cochrane Street on Friday, February eth, in honour of the Winter Car- nival Queen and her Prin- cesses.
