BASEBALL REGISTRATION The Whitby Minor Baseball Association has announced that its 1980 registration for all boys aged six to 19 will be held on March 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Whitby Public Library and in the Brooklin Community Centre. STORY HOUR The Whitby Public Library will present its story hour for children age six and over every Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to11:30 a.m. On March 15, the story hour will be devoted to St. Patrick's Day with the telling of Irish stories and the children will make felt key chains. On March 22, the story will be "The Fisherman and the Genie" and the craft session will teach children to make "wet chalk" genies. On March 29, a film - "The Tales of Beatrix Potter" - will be shown. EASTER FANTASIES On March 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. the Whitby Public Library will present Mary Lisko, a well-known author of several cookbooks. ENERGY ALTERNATIVES We hear about it everyday the rising cost of energy. In- formation concerning the alternatives available to the average consumer is often difficult to digest and more difficult to put into practical use. The Durham Region Family YMCA is sponsoring a mini-series entitled Energy Alternatives designed to give information about home conservation, wood burning systems and solar energy. These topics will be presented by knowledgable experienced individuals, through slide, tape presentations, discussions and information exchange.
