"I'm very higb on the system, " said Espey. "In the seven years I bave worked as a lawyer I bave only ever seen one true travesty of justice." In bis' experience be feels- that the defence attorney is a more cballenging job because of the pressures put on tbe defence in a case. Defence lawyers must be more inovative in Espeys experience. "I tbink tbat just about everytbing that could possibly bave bappened to me as a lawyer bas hap- pened in tbe coarse of a trial, he said reflectively. Working with law in Canada bas been a great ex- perience for Espey. "Law bas everything to do witb the buman factor," he said. "Being a lawyer belps you to appreciate tbe diversities tbat make up this country" Whitby sports players honored Ontario Junior A com- missioner Vic Sheffield recently announced the 1980 Junior A award winners in the Ontario Lacrosse Association. John Fusco of the Wbitby Builders was voted the "Rookie of the year" whle teammates Cam Devine and John Jordan were voted "Most Valuable Player" and "Best Defensive Player" respectively. Also announced was the 1980 Junior "A" AUl Star Team. Devine and Jordan were picked for this years team in the offensive and defensive positions.
