Members Up 50 percent Enroilment in the Whitby Iroquois Swim Club is up 50 percent over last years membershipr. Ann Goulding, public relations officer for WISC, said that at this point early in the clubs fourth season, there are 63 registered members. "We'll probably get a few more members in the next few months," said Goulcing. "Last year we reaily did weil as a club and I think that kind of showed people what we could do." The club held its' first meet of the season in a non- scoring competition against the Port Hope Swim Club at Iroquois Park last Sunday. AThe meet was for swim- mers 12 and under, many of whom were participating in their competition. goulding said that the training meet will give the new swimmers the chance to get the feel of a they way a swim meet operates. "It will help establish their times for future meets. We then have a base froin which to work. " "The strong performance by WISC swimmers in the meet showed the promise of further success in the clubs new season." Aniong the strongest swimmers on the 1980-81 WISC team we ere 8 year old Adrian Vargas and 10 year old Jui Connor -both of whoni placed first inail cateogires they entered.
