Fantastic picture of a classic gas station from the 1950's -60's era. This station was one of many located in Whitby at this time. Located on the south-west corner of Brock and Chestnut (414 Brock St N), sadly torn down for a townhouse development. On the north-east corner of that intersection was the Spur station, formerly Vigor Oil station, and that building is still there and servicing cars to this day. I remember when Peter Van hemmen ran the Texaco in the 1960,s where I spent many hours just hanging around and learning about cars, being a teenager at that time. I met my wife there in 1966.
