- A black and white photograph of James Clifford Gartshore.

- James Clifford Gartshore was born at Oshawa September 10, 1928 and moved to Whitby in 1939. He was a member of the Whitby Kinsmen Club starting in 1958, a President of the club, District Governor in 1964/65, and proclaimed a Life Member of the club in 1968. He was a Town Councillor from 1972-1975, and become Mayor in August 1975, upon the resignation of Desmond Newman.
