- Black and white negative of John Strathy.

- John Strathy came to Whitby from Toronto in 1934 to open the Brock Theatre with William Goodman. The new Brock Theatre on Brock Street North opened in April 1938.
Strathy was a member of the Public Utilities Commission and became chairman in 1951. He also served on the Town Council from 1947-1949. He left Whitby about 1952. - Date of Original
