- A colour photograph of Collins Shoes located at 119 Brock Street South.
- Notes
- 119-121 Brock Street South were built in 1880 following the Great Fire of 1877 and known as the Glasgow Warehouse. The building was owned by R. and J. Campbell and they sold groceries in 119 and clothing in 121. Mathias Whitney Collins joined the shoe business and moved his shop to 119 Brock Street South in 1892. Robert Bradford Collins was the fourth generation of the Collins family to operate Collins Shoe Store in Whitby. In 1969, Collins purchased the shoe store from his father, Russell, and closed it in 1977.
The building was destroyed by fire on April 3, 2015, and was demolished in May, 2015. - Date of Original
