- "Salem Lodge", former residence of Arthur W. Beall located at 326 Dundas Street East, Whitby. This house was built about 1876. In 1885 it was sold to Joseph R. Montgomery, whose daughter Margaret married Arthur Wellesley Beall in 1908. The Bealls lived for many years in this house while Mr. Beall travelled around Ontario giving lectures in sex education to high school classes. He died in 1939 and his wife died in 1931. The Montgomery family sold the house to Norval Gordon Fleming in 1945. The Fleming family sold the house in 1992 to become a lawyer's office. The Montgomery family called the house "Salem Lodge" after the Salem Church and cemetery near their original home in Kinsale.
