Description
This is a lithograph of Oddfellows' Hall. outside is a horsedrawn carriage and people are gathered and walking outside the building.
Notes
This is a lithograph printed as an advertisement in the Whitby Chronicle. The Oddfellows' Hall was the second building on the east side of Brock Street, north of Dundas Street. It was located at 103-107 Brock Street North. It was built from 1873 to 1875 and demolished in 1964. In 1879 there were two stores on the ground floor. The larger was operated by Edward Frost, a dry goods merchant. The second and third floors were lodge meeting halls. The Masons met on the third floor from 1926 to 1963. At left is the Hatch and Brother Hardware Store and at right is the Dominion Warerooms operated by Lowes and Powell.
