- Notes
- Mr. George Hamers (1888-1964) was a well known operator of a plumbing, heating and repair establishment at 210 Brock Street South, Whitby. The shop was likely built in the 1920s and demolished in 1985 when a modern two-storey building was erected on the same site. He served in the army of the Netherlands in the first great war, being a member of an artillery unit and came to Whitby in 1929 from Toronto.
