A black and white photographic postcard of a school class standing in front of Ashburn School. The people in this photograph from left to right: Rose Tarvis, Isabella "Granny" Tarvis (She was a next-door neighbor who saw the picture being taken in front of the school and walked over to teh school to be in the photograph), Fred Tarvis, Gordon White, Lena Parrott, Frank Fisher, Bill Heron, Bill Jones, Ray Britton, Miss Mabel White (teacher), Evelyn Fisher, Jennie Heron, Tena Jones, Ross Britton, Zella Tarvis, Jean Fisher, Ethel Stuttaford, Elsie West, Emma Fisher, Winnie Cassie.
Notes
The Ashburn School was located at 780 Myrtle Road West. It was built about 1861 on the north side of the 9th Concession of Whitby Township west of Ashburn Road. It was built by a stone mason named Pearson. Since 1967 this building has been used as a community centre.
