Description
A black and white portrait of Herbert Jeffrey Gimblett. This photograph was taken for the 1906 graduating class of Whitby Collegiate Institute.
Notes
Herbert Jeffrey Gimblett, known as Jeffrey to his friends, was born on 24 March 1892 at Whitby, Ontario. Jeffrey went to school in Whitby and later to the Ontario College of Pharmacy. He completed his apprenticeship at Allin's Drug Store and after graduating from College returned to work at the same drug store. In 1916 Jeffrey enlisted to fight with the 116th Battalion and was reported injured in September of 1917. He returned home in 1919. He died in Newmarket, Ontario on 16 July 1958.
