- In 1974, the Whitby Public Library moved some collections from the Carnegie Library into the basement of the Municipal Building at 405 Dundas Street West. When the new Town Hall at 575 Rossland Road East was completed in 1977, the Library took over the remainder of the Municipal Building. The Library underwent renovations in 1977 which accommodated additional growth. This building was demolished in 2003 and replaced with the current library building at 405 Dundas Street West.
