- Albert Alexander Walker was born at Whitby, Ontario on 18 June 1887 to Alexander and Sarah Jane Walker. He married Ethel Maud Williams on 18 September 1916 at Toronto, Ontario. Mr. Walker died 14 January 1990 at the age of 102 at Whitby, Ontario. He is buried at Groveside Cemetery, Whitby, Ontario.
The Walkers owned and operated an apiary that was located at the north-west corner of Dundas and Raglan Streets from about 1920 until the 1970s.
In 1921 their honey was selected to be shown at the Exhibition of Canadian Food Products in Crystal Palace in London. They shipped 1000 pounds for the occasion. In 1936 the Walker honey was awarded the only prize to an exhibitor from Ontario at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto.
In October 1947 the Walkers shipped a 24 cans of honey to Princess Elizabeth as a wedding present for which they received a note of thanks from now Queen Elizabeth II. - Date of Original
