21 We asked photographer Susie Kockerscheidt to give us her favourite photos of the year -- and tell us why she chose them. Here's what she said, referring to photos clockwise from top left. Kockersheidt admitted she got lucky when, shooting a pic of the closed pier in Port Perry, three girls walked into the frame. In Uxbridge, she liked this photo of Adrian Stocking as it "shows chaos in the hothouse as he gets ready for the spring planting season." "This little girl and the sign says it all," she said of an Uxbridge photo. At the Bowmanville Allotment Community Garden, Kockerscheidt asked Sher Leetooze "to make sure she was surrounded by plants and greenery" and liked the lushness of the photo. In Orono, she chose this photo as "it brings the viewer's attention to the road and the subject." In Brock Township, "the shadows on the couple's faces adds drama" to their story, opposing a gravel pit expansion across the road.
