Knitting, sewing, fashion, interior decorating, gardening, reading, cards/ dinner club was an important part of her life. Gordon was born in Jedburgh Scotland and emigrated to Canada in 1967, where he met his beloved wife, Diane (née Dafoe). Diane and Gordon were married for 52 years and had two children, Scott (Sandra) and Heather. Gordon was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Erica, Natasha, Andrew, Molly and Julie. Following in his father's footsteps, Gordon was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 56 years. Gordon began his Masonic Career in Lodge #104, Jedburgh, Scotland. He was a member of Lebanon Lodge A.F. and A.M. #139 Oshawa for 41 years and secretary for more than 25 years. In 1996 Gordon was proud to become a Grand Steward of the Grand Lodge of Canada. A private family memorial service will be held at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON -KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558). A wider Celebration of Life and a Masonic service will be held for Gordon at a later date when restrictions allow. We fought together along with you in great anticipation of you returning to better health. Surviving is her loving husband, Ron of 57 years, their three sons Ron Jr, Brian and Kevin as well as granddaughter Brianna and grandson Nevin. Veda came from a family of nine sisters and three brothers, whom lived in Jamaica; W.I. London and abroad, with one Sister, Sonia who also resides in Oshawa. Veda immigrated from London, England to Oshawa, Ontario, Canada on February 14, 1963, having just comp-leted a Registered Nursing degree as well as for Midwives at Orpington, Kent Hospital, London England. She worked at Oshawa General Hospital as an RN for 25 years full and part time, raising a family in the process. Veda also was active as a director and an Honorary Lifelong member with Club Carib of Oshawa Inc. aka (The Caribbean Cultural Centre) promoting Caribbean Culture for many years and loved to greet people attending the Banquet Hall during Fiesta Week each year, however along with the hard work came the satisfaction of accomplishment and dedication to a worthy cause and being part of promoting the Islands cultural and customs meeting and making many friends over the years. Veda was a contributing and very dedicated person either selling tickets for some event, serving on the membership and Benevolent Committee's, or overseeing hall rentals for many years. Veda enjoyed travelling with the group of the Centre's members in the past, visiting various other Caribbean Islands as well as enjoying cruising, while vacationing with Ron her husband. A Service and Celebration of Life reception will be held at the Caribbean Culture Centre, Oshawa. Due to Covid restrictions at present, this will be announced at a future date in the New Year.
