durhamregion.com This Week | Thursday,February 10,2022 | | 22 DUNK, Brian Everette June 8, 1949 - January 30, 2022 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing on Sunday, January 30, 2022 of our beloved husband, best friend, dad, Bompa, uncle and great-uncle at the age of 72 after a brief struggle with Cancer. Son of the late Everette and Marion Dunk, brother of the late Diane Lewins, the late Marlene Shaw (Ken and Pam) and Sharon Gironda(Frank). Brother-in-law of Randy Hayes (Maddy) and the late Carl Hayes. Devoted husband of 48 years of Barbara Dunk (nee Hayes). Adored dad to Corey and Leanne (Mike). Cherished Bompa to McKayla and Austin. Loving uncle to Shannon (Aimee), Brandy (Dan), Trina (Izzy), Brad (Sarah), Chris, Jared (Jess), Elisha and Troy. Great-uncle to Lauren, Luke, Alyssa, Adam, Bella, Logan, Quintin, Wyatt, Josie, Liam, Chelsea, and Lily. He will be missed by extended family and dear friends. This has been a huge loss for his four-legged walking buddy Harley and his crazy Grand puppy Gracie. Brian has been by his wife and best friends' side for about 56 years. After all of those years, that was his favourite place to be, at her side. If it wasn't going on vacations together, it was just a simple drive together, out to dinner, camping at various locations, and most of all, sitting on the porch beside her. A place where they watched their kids grow up. A place they enjoyed their grandkids company. Just a Sunday afternoon with his family was all he wanted. Although he was a man of few words and some may have thought he was grumpy, he had the biggest, kindest heart and was always there when you needed him. His generosity was limitless, and sometimes his inappropriate comments were too. Although we will miss his beautiful blue eyes, his awesome sense of humour, and everything in between, we find comfort in knowing his pain is over, all of his health struggles are over and he will always be walking beside us. "Unga Bunga" A heartfelt thank you to the awesome nurses, Dr. Shepherd, his palliative physician Dr. Russell at Port Perry hospital who were all so kind, gracious and treated him with dignity. All of these things contributed to making his final journey peaceful. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. To schedule a time to visit with the family, please call (905- 985-7331) as space within the facility is limited. A Private family service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Port Perry Hospital or the Canadian Cancer society. A Celebration of Brian's Life will be held in June around his birthday when it is safe to be together. Rick leaves behind his Mother, Jean Battams, Brothers Ed, Tyler and Archie, Sisters Cindy, Laura, Tori and Gina, as well as a multitude of cousins, nephews and nieces. Rick to all that knew him was a relentless seeker of truth and justice. He spent most of his life researching, talking to educated and upper-level individuals that just might have any kind of influence in correcting the wrongs in the world around him. Rick was known in the on-line world as Arby... a Yappy Trade Barrier, and was constantly blogging about the pandemic, his views on it and absolute abhorrence to all the mandates. Rick loved organic food, good quality coffee and sci fi movies. He had an interest in photography and would often walk around Toronto taking pictures of buildings with unique architecture and artwork that he would encounter. He loved taking his visitors to the little family owned café's in Toronto and Sea food restaurants. He loved God and his son Jesus and truly believed a better world awaited him. He is in their loving arms now and forever. He will be missed by all who took the time to know him Rick will be interred at Thornton Cemetery in the spring with a Celebration of Life to follow. OBITUARIES | REMEMBERING THE LIVES OF THOSE IN OUR COMMUNITY Just a thought of sweet remembrance just a memory sad and true, just the love and sweet devotion of one who thinks of you. A sweet little flower, nipped in the bud, no grief or sorrow knew; just came to earth to win our love and then to Heaven withdrew. No stain was on your little heart, sin had not entered there; and innocence slept sweetly on that pale white brow so fair. You were too pure for this cold earth, too beautiful to stay, and so God's holy angel bore our darling one away. Loving and kind in all your ways, upright and just to the end of your days; sincere and true, in your heart and mind, beautiful memories, you left behind. 1-800-263-6480 classifieds@metroland.comCLASSIFIEDS OBITUARIES | ANNOUNCEMENTS | JOBS | MARKETPLACE
