Five Oshawa residents have now been charged in the murder of Malachi Elijah Bainbridge, 19, of Toronto. The Toronto police announced on Thursday, Feb. 10, that the 14-year-old and Tyler James Willian, 19, were both charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Willian was arrested by the OPP in Trenton on Tuesday, Feb. 8. Toronto police were called to a McDonald's restaurant at 2 Ingram Dr. for a report of a shooting at about 12:40 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22. Officers found a man with gunshot wounds in a car in the parking lot. Life-saving measures were performed, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. On Tuesday, Feb. 8, police announced search warrants were executed in the investigation and three youths from Oshawa were arrested on Monday, Feb. 7. A 16-year-old boy from Oshawa has been charged with first-degree murder. Another 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, both from Oshawa, have been charged with accessory after the fact to murder, and are also facing several gun charges and a drug trafficking charge. The identities of the youths are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Toronto police also seized several firearms in their investigation.
