John was born in Toronto, married Rose Reimer in Hilltop Chapel, Toronto. John worked as an electrical Engineering Technician for R. E. Winter and Associated Ltd., Mississauga, for 20 years. John and family moved to the Christian community of Briercrest Bible College, Caronport, Saskatchewan, in 1992, where he was the head of the college's maintenance department. In 2006, John and Rose moved to Victoria, British Columbia, where daughter Bonnie and her family and son Scott reside. John will be missed by nephew Colin and Ashley Rycroft and family, Bowmanville, Ontario, first cousins Ruth Bresnen and family, Montreal, Liz Naylor and family, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Stan Rycroft and family, Corunna, Ontario.
