Deborah Scott matched six out of seven Encore numbers in the Nov. 27 Lotto 6/49 draw to win $100,000. The 50-year-old mar- ried mother said she is an occasional lottery player. "I like to play when the jackpot is large or there is a milestone occasion," she said while collecting her prize. Scott noted she received an early morning email from OLG. "I couldn't believe my eyes. It woke me up very quickly," she said. She plans to put her winnings toward retirement. "It's just fantastic - a great feeling after two years of COVID," she added. The winning ticket was bought on OLG.ca. Deborah Scott of Whitby matched the last six of seven Encore numbers to win $100,000. Stones and his partner Justin Kripps finished 2.51 seconds behind the winning German team after four heats. Germany swept the podium, winning gold, silver and bronze.Kripps won a gold in the two-man bobsled in the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The Canadian team of Chris Spring and Mike Evelyn finished in seventh, 2.37 seconds behind the winners. Kripps, the driver, and Stones, the brake- man, had runs of 59.61 seconds, 1:00.08, 59.71 and 1:00.00. Stones and Kripps will compete in the four-man bobsled, which takes place from Feb. 18 to 20. Stones is the only athlete from Durham Region competing in these Olympic Games. He competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics, in the four-man bobsledding event. STONES FINISHES 10TH IN 2-MAN BOBSLED
