TURNBULL, John "Jack" ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Friday, February 18, 2022 in his 84th year. He leaves his dear wife of 61 years, Isabelle (nee Cumin). Beloved father of Heather Pitre (Eric), Kevin and Scott (Melanie). Grandfather of Jennifer (Stephen), Michael (Stephanie), David (Sarah), Ryan (Amanda), Jack, Tomas, Kiana, Max and Jake. Great- grandfather of Preston, Damien, Nolan, Olivia, Ava, Margot and Elena. Jack also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Born in Felling on Tyne, England Jack arrived in Canada in 1953. He met Isabelle on a blind date and they married in 1960 and raised their family. Jack worked at Massey Ferguson and then went to IBM from where he retired in 1993. Jack was also a proud OPP Auxilliary at the Whitby Detachment. Upon retiring he enjoyed travelling, woodworking, clock-making and chocolate! Many of his handmade treasures are enjoyed and loved by his family and friends and will be for years to come. We will fondly remember his love of family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren but especially his love of Isabelle. There was a private family viewing and cremation followed. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. No flowers please, if desired expressions of sympathy may be made with donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. Chuck was born in Prince Edward Island on August 25, 1934, the 3rd youngest of 13 children. Besides three sisters and one brother, Chuck is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Lorraine and four cherished children, Kevin (Patti), Bob (Joanne), Marie (Bill) and Nancy (Grant). Chuck also leaves behind 10 much loved grandchildren and 10 precious great-grandchildren. The bulk of Chuck's career was teaching high school in Stouffville. Chuck also contributed considerably to the Durham Region R.C Separate School Board as a trustee for 14 years, besides being a willing handyman for family and friends, Chuck worked tirelessly to protect the lives of the pre-born as well as a sponsor for many children through World Vision over some 30 years.
