A woman whose body was located in north Pickering has been identified as a Clarington resident, police said. An autopsy has confirmed the body to be that of 52-year-old Terri Johnson, Durham police confirmed on Feb. 24. An investigation began after a woman's body was found on Feb. 20 in a densely wooded area near Pickering Concession 9 and Sideline 28. Durham police initially said the discovery was being treated as a suspicious death. Later, they announced that a Clarington woman had been charged in connection with the death. Barbara Kennedy, 71, of Fairway Drive in Newcastle, has been charged with second-degree murder and interference with a dead body. Police say Kennedy was the deceased woman's roommate.
